FPV Drone
During quarantine, I assembled my own FPV drone using parts sourced from online stores, as well as custom-machined plates for the frame.
Project Summary
I was very interested in FPV (first-person view) racing drones, so I decided to make my own during quarantine. This project consisted mostly of sourcing parts from online and soldering and assembling them, though I did design a custom lightweight frame for the drone using Inkscape and a CNC router.
I used Betaflight to configure and tune the flight controller, allowing for more precise control over flight behavior. Through lots of testing and adjusting, I was able to achieve very responsive and intuitive performance, suitable for FPV racing. I also made a carrying case for the drone, controller, and headset out of a tool crate and custom-fitted foam inserts.
